KÄLLEMO ON WHAT IS QUALITY?
Furniture is a concept, with a will of its own, conveying an expression. It is no doubt difficult to choose when clever operators with glossy catalogues tell you about the most recent trends. You do not have to be particularly intelligent to realize that the latest is succeeded by something else in the next catalogue. Our ambition is to work with designers and artists who are aware of what quality stands for-accomplishment unaffected by trends. On reflection, it is obvious that quality is just not measured in term of such things as strength of glued joints, etc. The measurable aspect is quantity, whereas quality is a broader concept and cannot be measured in the traditional sense. The most important aspect is the visual quality. Good quality means long-term validity.

ZERO
Skruf is located in the southern part of Småland in the Kingdom of Glass. By 1897, the first glass workshop was in operation in Skruf. The Skruf Glassworks has received one of the highest honors bestowed upon a company by being awarded the position as purveyor to his Majesty the King of Sweden.

Our hearts have grown up in the gloomy darkness of the Scandinavian winter and in the brilliant sunshine of the Scandinavian summer. A double life that involves us in a complicated love affair with light and shadow, darkness and shape. This double life creates a fantastic seed bed for functional design, combined with emotion.

Zero have a long-term and fruitful collaboration with another designer, Per Sundstedt. He then got tired of sheet metal and wanted to start designing glass lampshades. The time was right, and Zero’s product range is now dominated by various glass lampshades, many designed by Per Sundstedt, with contributions from other exciting Scandinavian designers such as Thomas Bernstrand, Mattias Ståhlbom, Fredrik Mattson, the Front design group, Mia Gammelgaard etc.

SKRUFS GLASSWORKS
At Skruf glassworks all the glass I handmade down to the smallest detail. They combine traditional and new thinking with high quality and a high artistic knowledge. In other words a genuine handicraft from Småland, Sweden. They have a unique service allowing customers to have any piece custom made; you can either design your own glass, bowl, and decanter or get us to help. They also have en engravings service for the entire collection. The limit is only really the imagination!
